Installation — Mixed Media — 2019
Common Language is my thesis project. The visitors are presented with a variety of media (compromised of a book, clay tablets, a lithographic stone, an animation, a tiling poster and modular wooden benches)
The media was created partially using outdated production methods such as lithographic printing and clay engraving, to explore how history repeats itself today.
The content of the works utilizes historical records of language and politics throughout the world to discuss how certain processes reoccur today throughout cultures worldwide.
The two seating areas allow the visitors to spend some time with the work, as opposed to rushing through an exhibition, and perhaps engage in a discussion with fellow visitors.
